The cooler temps make for hot fishing here in southwest Florida!

There’s nothing I enjoy more in the winter than Gag Grouper fishing.  And while the species is closed for harvest, clients absolutely love the strong battles on light tackle. Gags can be found all over our waterway but we’ve been focusing along the mouth of the Caloosahatchee river on both the Fort Myers and Cape Coral sides.  Big chunks of ladyfish seem to do the teick every time.

Snook continue to provide much excitement with fish of all sizes keeping lines tight and anglers happy.  We found nice fish along the mouth of the Caloosahatchee river on both the Fort Myers and Cape Coral sides.  Live bait worked best on the warmer afternoon incoming tides. 

The Sheepshead bite has been outstanding! We found schools of Sheepshead chewing on the east side of Pine Island Sound directly across from Sanibel and Captiva Islands.
