Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel & Captiva Fishing Report

1/11/2022

Starting off another great year of fishing with the young anglers reeling in the trophy fish!

The Snook bite remains the hot ticket with the warmer weather keeping the fish active.  Live shiners continue to be the go to bait for the bigger fish along Fort Myers and Cape Coral waterways.  We also managed to find some decent slot fish along Pine Island Sound along Sanibel and Captiva Islands mostly between Redfish Pass and the Sanibel Causeway.

We managed to find some decent sized Redfish on the lower morning tides along the oyster bars in Matlacha Pass on both north and south sides of the bridge.

The Trout bite remains strong on the thick grass flats with a lot fish coming home for dinner!

Looks like some fronts moving through this coming week providing for some good ore-front action!

Tight lines!

Sanibel, Captiva, Cape Coral and Fort Myers Fishing Report

Finally got a decent cold front move through the area.  And while the temperature may have cooled down, the inshore bite certainly has not!

Redfish were the star of the week with nice upper slot fish landed in the flats along Sanibel Island and Captiva Island.  Also managed some nice Reds in northern Matlacha Pass on the warmer afternoon tides.

Snook slowed down a bit as expected with the colder temps but we still managed to find lots of hungry ones in the canals along Cape Coral and Fort  Myers.

Big trout are making for some non-stop action during the late morning tides.  Not to mention some easy and delicious table fare for our guests.

Looks like the cold is moving on and temps will be rising quickly providing for even more steady action inshore.  Still some spots left in January so book now to save a slot!

Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel and Captiva Fishing Report

The warm weather trend continued last week with high temps in the 80’s and water temps in the high 70’s.  Fortunately, the fish seem to be enjoying the warm water and our guests definitely enjoyed the action!

Snook continue to be the best action around with bigger fish along the shores of Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Lots of lower slot fish along Pine Island Sound near Sanibel and Captiva.

We found some very nice Redfish working some oyster bars on the lower morning tides in Matlacha also along the Cape Coral side.

We also managed to find big Trout last week despite the warm water temps.  Something our guests really enjoyed as we are allowed to harvest Trout in our local waters.  We had several trips last week with Trout limits in under an hour.

Looks like we are finally getting a cold front this coming week which should bring a great bite for our guests!

We are fully booked for the remainder of December but have some spots left in January.  Start the new year off right with a trophy fish here in beautiful southwest Florida!

Merry Christmas to all our friends, family and wonderful clients!

The warm weather trend is keeping the inshore bite red hot this December all along southwest Florida!

The Snook seem to be everywhere these days! From the creeks and passes around Sanibel and Captiva Islands to deep within the mangroves along Pine Island Sound and up into Matlacha. Lots of action this past week with sizes all over the board.  The Caloosahatchee river held tons of Snook along the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shoreline.

Redfish were holding strong with big schools gathering up on the late morning low tides.  We  picked some nice fish off the packs this past week in northern Pine Island on cut ladyfish and crabs.

Forecast calls for continuing warm weather as we head into the holiday season.  Still a couple days left during winter break to get the kids on some action! Call now and book today!

Fishing between fronts has been spectacular in southwest Florida!  Snook of all sizes are on the move and big schools of reds are plentiful!

We did very good this past week catching Snook of all sizes with the higher tides along the river between Cape Coral and Fort Myers.

Redfish have been around in good numbers all around Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well as in Matlacha Pass.

Colder water has the big Trout showing up in good numbers on the flats of Pine Island Sound.

Colder temps will bring in the Sheepshead which are amazing table fare!  Book your trip today to get on those tasty toothy critters! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

The cooling temps don’t seem to be affecting the inshore bite one bit! Snook and Redfish along with keeper Trout have been very active this last week.

We caught plenty of Snook along Sanibel Island and across the sound along Pine Island. Small pins worked best for the upper slot fish.

Released lots of little guys along Fort Myers and Cape Coral.

Reds are gathering up in big numbers in Northern Matlacha Pass.  The lower tides has been making spotting easy but some spooky fish mixed in.

Nice size Trout are showing up on the grass flats.  With the newly open season allowing 3 fish per angler, clients are enjoying the option of taking home some fresh fish for diner.

More fronts predicted for next week means hungry fish! Call now to book your trip!

Temperatures continue to cool down while the Snook and Redfish bite continue to heat up!

We saw some great action this past week with big schools of Redfish all along Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass.  Sanibel and Captiva held big fish deep under the trees with the afternoon high tide.

You just can’t beat the Snook bite this time of year before a cold front!  Our guests were busy this past week ahead of the front landing over 50 Snook on a half day charter.  We found nice fish along the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers and on the Cape Coral side.

Finally starting to see some cooler mornings in Southwest Florida!  Dislike temperature change has got the fish on the move.

Redfish have been chewing very well along Pine Island Sound from Captiva Pass to south of Ding Darling on Sanibel Island.  Cut bait has been providing the best action.

Snook are finally moving into the Caloosahatchee river along Cape Coral and Fort Myers.  Manage some decent fish this week and lost some monsters.

Hopefully some more fronts out in our future to really heat up the bite!

Starting to see some changes in our weather pattern here in southwest Florida and that means killer fishing!  Especially for Redfish.

We’ve been targeting big schools of Redfish along the northern end of Pine Island Sound as well as Matlacha Pass.  We saw schools of 100 plus fish working the flats on the late morning low tides.

Snook still hanging around the passes along Sanibel Island and Captiva Island with smaller fish moving into the inland waters along the Cape Coral canals.

Big Snook continue to move inland towards Cape Coral and Fort Myers but still plenty of fish along Pine Island Sound and Matlacha.  Bait is all over the place with huge bait pods inshore and offshore.

Some decent Redfish are showing up around Sanibel and Captiva.  The late morning/early afternoon high tides made for some great action along the mangroves!
