Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report7/1/2023 Its been a great June so far with fantastic weather and even better fishing. Plenty of quality Snook, Redfish and Trout to keep everyone happy!
We’ve been finding some upper/over slot Snook in the early morning hours along the passes around Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We’ve also found good quality Snook along the shorelines of Fort Myers and Cape Coral in the late afternoon when temps tend to cool down a bit with the higher water. Speaking of higher water, nice Redfish have been moving deep into the bushes of Matlacha Pass as expected with the seasonal higher summer tides. The Trout bite has fired back up with good number of upper slot fish being landed on the deeper grass flats and potholes on both the south and north ends of Pine Island Sound. June is almost a wrap but still have some dates available in July. Call us today and book your custom charter. Fishing, shelling, eco tours, beaches and bar hopping, Salty Native Charters has you covered. Easy pick up locations in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and Pine Island! We found great numbers of quality Redfish in Matlacha pass last week on the late afternoon high tides. Fish were in their summertime pattern of deep in the bushes with the high water. Great to see some significant numbers of Redfish returning to our area. Our guests managed some good catches of reds on late morning high tides on both the east and west sides of Pine Island. We covered some ground from Sanibel Island to Captiva over to the St. James City to find the fish and it payed off. Snook continue to provide some great excitement for our guests. And although they are now catch and release, no one is complaining when they are hooked up! Bigger fish starting to move out to the beaches but still some quality fish to be found along the shores of Fort Myers and Cape Coral. We don’t usually focus on Trout but wow, have we landed some gators these past 2 months!! We’ve been finding some great fish along Matlacha Pass as well as the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River. We’re finding Snook of all sizes along the mangroves of Sanibel and Captiva Islands on the incoming tide. Lots of fish to be found along Pine Island and Matlacha Pass at the top of the tide as well! Our guests had a blast with upper slot and over slot Trout fishing these past few weeks with great fish landed along the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shoreline of the Caloosahatchee river. Gotta love this time of year!!
The Redfish are starting to show up in better numbers and providing for a great fight! Been sight fishing some nice upper slot Reds on the oyster bars around Sanibel and Captiva Islands during the late morning low tide. Snook fishing continues to remain strong along the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River and the shore lines of Cape Coral and Fort Myers. We also found some bigger fish in Matlacha pass during the late afternoon high tide. Got a request from some very special clients for some Sheepshead and while the water temps are nearing 80 degrees, we still managed to find out limit of nice quality fish along the east wall of Pine Island Sound. Probably it for sheeps until next year! Couple days still available for April. Give us a call, text or email to book your trip! But that’s not stopping us from finding the action. Spring break is here and the kids are having a blast!
Snook continue to provide tons of action for our anglers. Good numbers of decent fish along the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River and into the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines. Found some better fish along the passes between Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Big pins on the later outgoing tide were the ticket! We also found some nice Redfish these past couple weeks. Some upper slot fish on cut bait in Matlacha Pass kept some young anglers busy with some good, long runs! Got some spots left open in April. Give us a call and let’s get the spring breakers on the water. Come spend the day in the beautiful warm weather and see why we are Cape Coral and Fort Myers top rated fishing and sightseeing charter services! Captain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report3/8/2023 Weather is definitely heating up in southwest Florida and so is the fishing!!!

We found Snook of all sizes everywhere from the shorelines on Sanibel and Captiva Islands to both sides of the Caloosahatchee river in Cape Coral and Fort Myers. We also found good numbers of upper slot fish along the eastern side of Pine Island sound on the early afternoon high tides. We really enjoyed some nice clean water along the shores of Matlacha Pass and that paid off for our northern guests who love them some Sheepshead for the dinner table! Things will only get better with this amazing weather so book your trip today. Spring break is almost upon us and that means fishing with the kids! Captain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report2/23/2023 The past two weeks warm weather has given us a break from the cold and has fired up the inshore bite!
As expected this time of year,Sheepshead are in high demand and showing up in great numbers. We found nice larger fish around the rocks and ruble piles along Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well as some of the nearshore public reefs when weather allowed. Also scored some good numbers of sheeps in Matlacha Pass working the oyster bars and pilings. The Cobia bite has been awesome on the Caloosahatchee River with nice schools of legal fish and just under fish showing up consistently along the Cape Coral shoreline. Working the oyster bars on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers side has been the best bet on the incoming tide. Looks like a much needed, long warming trend will continue this month. That should really get the Snook and Redfish bite going. While we are completely booked for the rest of February, we still have a couple days open in March. Call now to book your trip and enjoy our paradise! Captain Jay Another amazing holiday season fishing with kids! There is nothing I enjoy more about my job than bringing a smile to you anglers faces!
Water temps still on the low end after that big front but that hasn’t stopped the Snook from biting. All the slot Snook you could want to catch right now along Cape Coral and Fort Myers canals. Bigger fish showing up in good size numbers along Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass. Cold water means the Sheepshead are here! Good number of quality Sheeps all around structure and near shore reefs around Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. Shrimp tipped jugs are the way to go with those toothy critters! This cold water should make for an epic spring time bite. February, March and April stating to fill up quick so call us soon to save your spot! Captain Jay Finally got some cooler weather and that’s got the Redfish and Snook on the move and hungry!
The Redfish action has been nothing short of spectacular along Pine Island Sound along the shores of Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. Also experienced some great Redfish action in Matlacha Pass on the higher afternoon tides. Big Snook are moving into the Caloosahatchee River and pods of very nice fish can be found on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines. Best action has been early in the morning with live bait or on the strong outgoing tide before sunset. Looks like this big cold front is headed out with some warmer weather on the way. That means the fish will be on the rebound and ready to strike!!! Book your trip today with Captain Jay! |
