Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report2/23/2023 The past two weeks warm weather has given us a break from the cold and has fired up the inshore bite!
As expected this time of year,Sheepshead are in high demand and showing up in great numbers. We found nice larger fish around the rocks and ruble piles along Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well as some of the nearshore public reefs when weather allowed. Also scored some good numbers of sheeps in Matlacha Pass working the oyster bars and pilings. The Cobia bite has been awesome on the Caloosahatchee River with nice schools of legal fish and just under fish showing up consistently along the Cape Coral shoreline. Working the oyster bars on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers side has been the best bet on the incoming tide. Looks like a much needed, long warming trend will continue this month. That should really get the Snook and Redfish bite going. While we are completely booked for the rest of February, we still have a couple days open in March. Call now to book your trip and enjoy our paradise! Captain Jay
