Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report3/22/2022 The inshore bite remained strong throughout southwest Florida this past week despite a quick cold front that moved in last weekend.
Snook fishing has been as good as it gets this week and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. All our trips this past week caught good sized slot fish with a couple over slot added in. The Cape Coral shore along the Caloosahatchee held big boys this week with some smaller but great fighting Snook landed along Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We finished our afternoon trips this week landing upper slot redfish in Matlacha Pass on the higher than average tides. Cut ladyfish worked best for the reds deep under the bushes. Some decent Trout and Pompano were caught last week along San Carlos Bay in Fort Myers. We also managed nice Trout along Pine Island in the sound. Weather continues to look amazing and warm for the coming weeks which is exactly what we want to continue this epic run! Capatain Jay

Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report3/16/2022 It was another great week of catching here in southwest Florida! Big Snook and Redfish were the targeted species for our guests and the fish did not disappoint! Had some great trips and fun times with our Spring Breakers as a bonus!!!
We caught good numbers of slot and upper slot Snook last week along the eastern shore of Pine Island Sound. There were plenty of smaller fish caught along the shores of Sanibel Island up to Captiva Island that kept the anglers busy. We also managed some really nice fish during the early morning outgoing tides in the Caloosahatchee River on the Cape Coral and Fort Myers side. We managed to land some nice Redfish this past week while on the Snook hunt. Our best results were in the late morning/early afternoon incoming tide with the best action in Matlacha Pass. Another cold front just blasted through our area this past weekend. Hopefully it won’t do too much to change the incredible action we are seeing now! Captain Jay Rod Another week of warm weather really helped keep the inshore action on fire! The Snook bite in southwest Florida has been nothing short of extraordinary!!
Spring break is in full swing and our young anglers are loving the Snook fight! We landed big, upper slot fish all week in all parts of Pine Island Sound. The higher afternoon tides around Sanibel and Captiva Islands saw some of the best action. The morning outgoing tide in the Caloosahatchee River provided some great linesider action on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shores! We managed some nice Redfish this past week with several upper slot and over slot fish landed along Pine Island Sound and Matlacha. Look for the bite to continue given the warm weather forecasted for the upcoming week! Captain Jay |
