Fishing between fronts has been spectacular in southwest Florida! Snook of all sizes are on the move and big schools of reds are plentiful!
We did very good this past week catching Snook of all sizes with the higher tides along the river between Cape Coral and Fort Myers. Redfish have been around in good numbers all around Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well as in Matlacha Pass. Colder water has the big Trout showing up in good numbers on the flats of Pine Island Sound. Colder temps will bring in the Sheepshead which are amazing table fare! Book your trip today to get on those tasty toothy critters! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Captain Jay

The cooling temps don’t seem to be affecting the inshore bite one bit! Snook and Redfish along with keeper Trout have been very active this last week.
We caught plenty of Snook along Sanibel Island and across the sound along Pine Island. Small pins worked best for the upper slot fish. Released lots of little guys along Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Reds are gathering up in big numbers in Northern Matlacha Pass. The lower tides has been making spotting easy but some spooky fish mixed in. Nice size Trout are showing up on the grass flats. With the newly open season allowing 3 fish per angler, clients are enjoying the option of taking home some fresh fish for diner. More fronts predicted for next week means hungry fish! We saw some great action this past week with big schools of Redfish all along Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass. Sanibel and Captiva held big fish deep under the trees with the afternoon high tide. You just can’t beat the Snook bite this time of year before a cold front! Our guests were busy this past week ahead of the front landing over 50 Snook on a half day charter. We found nice fish along the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers and on the Cape Coral side. Capt. Jay Rod |
