Windy days this past week kept us on the inside but there was no lack of action. Big Snook are on the move and hungry along the Caloosahatchee River in Cape Coral and Fort Myers. We also found good numbers of fish on both the south end of Pine Island Sound as well as the northern end of the sound inside of Captiva.
Matlacha Pass will be the target of next weeks trips with Redfish, Snook and Trout the targeted species! Capt. Jay Rod Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Sanibel Fishing Charters (239) 707-3756

We took full advantage of a couple calm days this past week for an offshore meat trip! Dustin and the boys from Iowa were all smiles on our instructional offshore grouper trip. Red Grouper bite has been on fire as well as the snapper and Kingfish action.
Staying on the meat trips, inshore action along Pine Island Sound and the Sanibel Causeway has produced some really nice schools of Pompano. Limits of bigger Pomp’s occurred on three consecutive trips. New to the area or new to boating? Salty Native Charters offers both inshore and offshore instructional charters on your boat. We provide the bait, tackle and most importantly, the skills, knowledge and techniques to get you on the fish!!! The lady anglers and the big Snook were the stars of the show this past week! The warming waters kept the Snook bite red hot and the ladies proved to top the boys to get the job done. Big fish were hungry along the river banks of Fort Myers and Cape Coral as well as the flats around Sanibel and Captiva islands.
Some projected calm days in this coming weeks forecast should work just right with our planned offshore trips. Capt. Jay Rod Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Sanibel Fishing Charters www.saltynativecharters.com (239) 707-3756 This past weeks late afternoon incoming tide provided the best action for the inshore bite with waters warming into the high 70’s. The Snook bite continued to be strong along the river in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. One guest this week preferred using his fly rod which was really neat to see big Snook blowing up on fly!
The Redfish bite was awesome all along Pine Island Sound, Sanibel and Captiva. The strong incoming tide made it easy to access the Redfish grounds. Pinfish was by far the bait of choice for the Reds This week! Capt. Jay Rod Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Sanibel Fishing Charters www.saltynativecharters.com (239) 707-3756 Just as we expected, the warm temperatures really fired up the inshore bite! While the Redfish and Trout bite has been consistent, the Snook bite has been phenomenal. Mixed sizes of Snook can be found all along Pine Island Sound near Sanibel and Captiva Island. The big boys along the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers and Cape Coral have also fired up and are providing our guests with a great fight!
Looks like one more cold front is in the forecast for later this week. That should keep the bite consistent leading up to the incoming weather. Luckily, it’s not expected to be to cold for too long.
