You just gotta love this time of year in southwest Florida. Snook, Redfish, Trout, Tarpon, Snapper… You name it, we’re catching it!!!
Great to see some significant numbers of Redfish returning to our area. Our guests managed some good catches of reds on late morning high tides on both the east and west sides of Pine Island. We covered some ground from Sanibel Island to Captiva over to the St. James City to find the fish and it payed off. Snook continue to provide some great excitement for our guests. And although they are now catch and release, no one is complaining when they are hooked up! Bigger fish starting to move out to the beaches but still some quality fish to be found along the shores of Fort Myers and Cape Coral. We don’t usually focus on Trout but wow, have we landed some gators these past 2 months!! We’ve been finding some great fish along Matlacha Pass as well as the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River. We’ve got a couple days still open in May before we head into summer break in June for more fishing with the kids! Call us now and find out why we are the top rated fishing charter in Cape Coral!!! By far the Snook fishing has been out of this world lately with big upper slot fish landed daily. We’re finding Snook of all sizes along the mangroves of Sanibel and Captiva Islands on the incoming tide. Lots of fish to be found along Pine Island and Matlacha Pass at the top of the tide as well! Our guests had a blast with upper slot and over slot Trout fishing these past few weeks with great fish landed along the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shoreline of the Caloosahatchee river. I don’t see how it can get any better in May but we are ready with only a few days left. Call us directly to book your trip and get on the hottest bite we’ve seen in years! Captain Jay Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report3/22/2023 Bit of a roller coaster with our weather lately. But that’s not stopping us from finding the action. Spring break is here and the kids are having a blast!
Snook continue to provide tons of action for our anglers. Good numbers of decent fish along the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River and into the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines. Found some better fish along the passes between Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Big pins on the later outgoing tide were the ticket! We also found some nice Redfish these past couple weeks. Some upper slot fish on cut bait in Matlacha Pass kept some young anglers busy with some good, long runs! Got some spots left open in April. Give us a call and let’s get the spring breakers on the water. Come spend the day in the beautiful warm weather and see why we are Cape Coral and Fort Myers top rated fishing and sightseeing charter services! Captain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report3/8/2023 Weather is definitely heating up in southwest Florida and so is the fishing!!!
The recent warming trend has really fired up the inshore action and the Snook bite could not be any better. We found Snook of all sizes everywhere from the shorelines on Sanibel and Captiva Islands to both sides of the Caloosahatchee river in Cape Coral and Fort Myers. We also found good numbers of upper slot fish along the eastern side of Pine Island sound on the early afternoon high tides. We really enjoyed some nice clean water along the shores of Matlacha Pass and that paid off for our northern guests who love them some Sheepshead for the dinner table! Things will only get better with this amazing weather so book your trip today. Spring break is almost upon us and that means fishing with the kids! Don’t miss your chance to spend a day on the water with Captain Jay and see why we are the top rated fishing charter service in Cape Coral and Fort Myers! Captain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report2/23/2023 The past two weeks warm weather has given us a break from the cold and has fired up the inshore bite!
As expected this time of year,Sheepshead are in high demand and showing up in great numbers. We found nice larger fish around the rocks and ruble piles along Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well as some of the nearshore public reefs when weather allowed. Also scored some good numbers of sheeps in Matlacha Pass working the oyster bars and pilings. The Cobia bite has been awesome on the Caloosahatchee River with nice schools of legal fish and just under fish showing up consistently along the Cape Coral shoreline. Working the oyster bars on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers side has been the best bet on the incoming tide. Looks like a much needed, long warming trend will continue this month. That should really get the Snook and Redfish bite going. While we are completely booked for the rest of February, we still have a couple days open in March. Call now to book your trip and enjoy our paradise! Captain Jay Another amazing holiday season fishing with kids! There is nothing I enjoy more about my job than bringing a smile to you anglers faces!
Water temps still on the low end after that big front but that hasn’t stopped the Snook from biting. All the slot Snook you could want to catch right now along Cape Coral and Fort Myers canals. Bigger fish showing up in good size numbers along Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass. Cold water means the Sheepshead are here! Good number of quality Sheeps all around structure and near shore reefs around Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. Shrimp tipped jugs are the way to go with those toothy critters! This cold water should make for an epic spring time bite. February, March and April stating to fill up quick so call us soon to save your spot! Captain Jay Finally got some cooler weather and that’s got the Redfish and Snook on the move and hungry!
The Redfish action has been nothing short of spectacular along Pine Island Sound along the shores of Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. Also experienced some great Redfish action in Matlacha Pass on the higher afternoon tides. Big Snook are moving into the Caloosahatchee River and pods of very nice fish can be found on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines. Best action has been early in the morning with live bait or on the strong outgoing tide before sunset. Looks like this big cold front is headed out with some warmer weather on the way. That means the fish will be on the rebound and ready to strike!!! Book your trip today with Captain Jay! While there is still a long road ahead of us here in southwest Florida, the inshore bite post Ian has been nothing short of awesome!
Redfish are still providing great action for our guests as larger numbers of big fish begin to show up for their usual fall pattern. Lots of upper slot Redfish to be found along both sides of Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass. Warm water temps have kept the Snook bite red hot well into November. We got some big boys in the Caloosahatchee River on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines. We also found some really nice fish under the docks of Sanibel Island and Captiva Islands. We took advantage of some very nice weather patterns and ran some nearshore numbers with great catches of Gag grouper and Sheapshead. Cooler temps will only increase the action as we head into mid November. Call us now to reserve your spot during the upcoming holiday season. We service The entire southwest Florida area. Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island Captiva Island, Pine Island and Matlacha. Captain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Charters9/24/2022 Halfway through September and the fishing has been RED hot!!!
The Redfish bite in southwest Florida has been absolutely on fire this month! We have been catching good numbers of over slot reds along the southern end of Pine Island on the high incoming tides as well as decent sized schooling fish around Sanibel and Captiva Islands on the low outgoing tides. Snook fishing has been almost as hot as the Redfish action with lots of slot sized fish caught on live pilchards in the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River and San Carlos Bay. Some really nice fish have started moving in along the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines making for some great fishing for our guests! Speckled Sea Trout and nice Mangrove Snappers are also munching well along the southern end of Matlacha Pass. Making for some very happy guests taking home some delicious table fare. I can’t see how Fishing can get any better but if this is any indication of how the fall is going to be, October should be off the charts. We still have some dates left so book your trip now! We pick up anywhere in the southwest Florida area that’s most convenient for you! Fort Myers, Caoe Coral, Sanibel Island, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and Pine Island. Captain Jay We took full advantage of the break in the weather last week to run back to back Captain For Hire trips in the beautiful waters of the Florida Keys!
Had an awesome time with three amazing families last week showing them what offshore fishing is all about. Weather was perfect and the fish were hungry! Got some nice Dolphin to bite (Mahi Mahi) as well as some Tuna and Yellow Jacks. Once the fishing was done, it was time to get in the water for some Spiny Lobsters. It took some time but my crew were quick learners and got our limit on every dive. Some good eats for sure! Whether it’s the waters of Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island, Pine Island or anywhere else in southwest Florida to the Florida Keys, our Captain for Hire services will show you how to make the most of your time and money and bring home the fish!
