Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report4/24/2022 This past week we experienced what we hope will be our last cold front of the season. But the fish didn’t seem to mind!
Redfish are here and showing up in good numbers in Pine Island Sound from south Sanibel Island to the northern end of Captiva Island. Also managed some nice upper slot Redfish in the Pineland area of Pine Island as well as the southern islands of Matlacha. Snook are still a plenty along the Fort Myers and Cape Coral shorelines of the Caloosahatchee River. The later afternoon high tides really turned on the bite! TARPON are here! We jumped our first fish this week while fishing the flats for Cobia. Looking forward to another great Tarpon season. Still some dates left in May. Spring is in full swing and we are providing our guests with smiles for miles!!
Snook Fishing has been some of the best action we have seen in years! We landed upper slot fish on the late morning incoming tide around Sanibel and Captiva Island. The strong afternoon outgoing tide provided great numbers of fish in various sizes along the Caloosahatchee river on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers side. We managed some nice upper slot Redfish in Matlacha and Pine Island Sound on the flats during the morning low tide and deep under the trees on the afternoon high. What bait was the ticket We’ve got another full week of eager young anglers on spring break waiting to get their shot at a trophy fish and we couldn’t be more excited. Give us a shout to secure your day on the water! Captain Jay |
