Cape Coral and Surrounding Area Fishing Report by Capt. Jay

Our plan to target big Redfish in Matlacha Pass worked out great until the end of the week cold front dropped the water temperatures  by almost 13 degrees! Needles to say, the fish were hungry leading up to the front and the bite did not disappoint our guests.

Pine Island Sound along Sanibel and Captiva Island held big trout last week with good numbers on the deeper grass beds.  Snook are just now getting fired up along the river in Cape Coral and Fort Myers.  The forecasted warming trend should really get them going.

We saw Redfish showing up in good numbers with a decent amount of over slot fish being caught on the afternoon incoming tides.  The warming waters in the coming weeks should really get them going!
