Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report

It’s winter in southwest Florida…. Trout time!!!

Been finding some decent schools of Speckled Sea Trout in their usual winter time locations along Pine Island Sound.  Also found some good numbers on the south side of Matlacha Pass.  Lots of under slot fish have kept us busy with a good amount of slot and some over slot mixed in. 

Water temps are warming up along the Caloosahatchee River with the afternoon higher tides.  Some good action on rat reds and Snook along the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shore lines.   Handpick shrimp and small pilchards were the key baits with this cold water.
