The cold and wind has made some days a bit challenging this past week but with some hard work, we always find the fish!
As expected, the Sheepshead bite has really fired up with nice keepers coming in the early morning hours along the deep mangroves and structure along Sanibel and Captiva Islands. The Snook bite has been much better in the late afternoon of fishing the Caloosahatchee River on either the Fort Myers or Cape Coral sides. As always, the pre-front bite has been the best with lots of smaller slot fish still chewing hard under the bushes in Matlacha Pass. Landed a few Redfish this past week in Pine Island Sound during the late morning hours. Most fish were found in or around the deeper potholes around the islands. Looks like some more cooler temps this coming week. Hopefully this will be the end of the cold and we will start to warm up soon. Warm temps show up in March and so do the hunger fish!!! We still have some dates available so call now to what should be an epic spring bite!!! Captain Jay
