The inshore bite in southwest Florida is red hot with strong numbers of Tarpon moving into Pine Island Sound along Sanibel and Captiva Islands. The Snook are in full transition to spawning mode and they are hungry! This weeks trips continues to average over 20 releases of Snook per trip. We found big fish in Matlacha Pass just down the river from Cape Coral and Fort Myers.
The hottest bite this last week was by far the big bull Redfish. We found good number of big fish in the passes and along the deeper cuts near open water. Expect this amazing action to continue through the month of May with bigger fish showing up later in the month! Capt. Jay Rod Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Sanibel Fishing Charters (239) 707-3756
