While there is still a long road ahead of us here in southwest Florida, the inshore bite post Ian has been nothing short of awesome!
Redfish are still providing great action for our guests as larger numbers of big fish begin to show up for their usual fall pattern. Lots of upper slot Redfish to be found along both sides of Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass. Warm water temps have kept the Snook bite red hot well into November. We got some big boys in the Caloosahatchee River on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines. We also found some really nice fish under the docks of Sanibel Island and Captiva Islands. We took advantage of some very nice weather patterns and ran some nearshore numbers with great catches of Gag grouper and Sheapshead. Cooler temps will only increase the action as we head into mid November. Call us now to reserve your spot during the upcoming holiday season. We service The entire southwest Florida area. Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island Captiva Island, Pine Island and Matlacha. Captain Jay

Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Charters9/24/2022 Halfway through September and the fishing has been RED hot!!!
The Redfish bite in southwest Florida has been absolutely on fire this month! We have been catching good numbers of over slot reds along the southern end of Pine Island on the high incoming tides as well as decent sized schooling fish around Sanibel and Captiva Islands on the low outgoing tides. Snook fishing has been almost as hot as the Redfish action with lots of slot sized fish caught on live pilchards in the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River and San Carlos Bay. Some really nice fish have started moving in along the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines making for some great fishing for our guests! Speckled Sea Trout and nice Mangrove Snappers are also munching well along the southern end of Matlacha Pass. Making for some very happy guests taking home some delicious table fare. I can’t see how Fishing can get any better but if this is any indication of how the fall is going to be, October should be off the charts. We still have some dates left so book your trip now! We pick up anywhere in the southwest Florida area that’s most convenient for you! Fort Myers, Caoe Coral, Sanibel Island, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and Pine Island. Captain Jay We took full advantage of the break in the weather last week to run back to back Captain For Hire trips in the beautiful waters of the Florida Keys!
Had an awesome time with three amazing families last week showing them what offshore fishing is all about. Weather was perfect and the fish were hungry! Got some nice Dolphin to bite (Mahi Mahi) as well as some Tuna and Yellow Jacks. Once the fishing was done, it was time to get in the water for some Spiny Lobsters. It took some time but my crew were quick learners and got our limit on every dive. Some good eats for sure! Whether it’s the waters of Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island, Pine Island or anywhere else in southwest Florida to the Florida Keys, our Captain for Hire services will show you how to make the most of your time and money and bring home the fish! With good numbers of Snook, Redfish, Trout and nice keeper snappers added to the mix!
Been finding the Snook in the usual spots along Sanibel and Captiva Island. Nice numbers of healthy fish also showing up along the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shorelines. Redfish looks very promising for the upcoming season. With good numbers of slot fished around the northern tip of Pine Island Sound and some decent numbers on the south end mixed in with some Snook as well. Mangrove snappers have been providing some great table fare for our guests with with some nice keeper mangs feeding in the early morning hours on the nearshore wrecks. Still a couple weeks left of summer before our favorite time of year, the fall! Look for the upcoming King Tides in September to really get the inshore bight on fire!! Captain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Charters8/5/2022 That’s a wrap! Finished strong in July with the action as hot as the temperature! Many of our guests experienced personal best catches of Snook, Redfish and Trout.
Snook have been biting better than ever on the high incoming tides along Pine Island Sound from Sanibel Island north to Upper Captiva. Lots of slot fish caught this month on the north end of Matlacha as well. We landed solid numbers of Redfish in the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River and into the Fort Myers and Cape Coral sides. Did beat with cut bait off Pine Island during the later afternoon tides. Trout have been everywhere this past month with easy limits for those anglers that wanted to take some fish home. Weather pattern for August is usually very similar to July so no rest in the fishing anytime soon! Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report4/24/2022 This past week we experienced what we hope will be our last cold front of the season. But the fish didn’t seem to mind!
Redfish are here and showing up in good numbers in Pine Island Sound from south Sanibel Island to the northern end of Captiva Island. Also managed some nice upper slot Redfish in the Pineland area of Pine Island as well as the southern islands of Matlacha. Snook are still a plenty along the Fort Myers and Cape Coral shorelines of the Caloosahatchee River. The later afternoon high tides really turned on the bite! TARPON are here! We jumped our first fish this week while fishing the flats for Cobia. Looking forward to another great Tarpon season. Still some dates left in May. Call now to book your battle with the “Silver King!” Captain Jay Spring is in full swing and we are providing our guests with smiles for miles!!
Snook Fishing has been some of the best action we have seen in years! We landed upper slot fish on the late morning incoming tide around Sanibel and Captiva Island. The strong afternoon outgoing tide provided great numbers of fish in various sizes along the Caloosahatchee river on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers side. We managed some nice upper slot Redfish in Matlacha and Pine Island Sound on the flats during the morning low tide and deep under the trees on the afternoon high. What bait was the ticket We’ve got another full week of eager young anglers on spring break waiting to get their shot at a trophy fish and we couldn’t be more excited. Give us a shout to secure your day on the water! Captain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report3/22/2022 The inshore bite remained strong throughout southwest Florida this past week despite a quick cold front that moved in last weekend.
Snook fishing has been as good as it gets this week and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. All our trips this past week caught good sized slot fish with a couple over slot added in. The Cape Coral shore along the Caloosahatchee held big boys this week with some smaller but great fighting Snook landed along Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We finished our afternoon trips this week landing upper slot redfish in Matlacha Pass on the higher than average tides. Cut ladyfish worked best for the reds deep under the bushes. Some decent Trout and Pompano were caught last week along San Carlos Bay in Fort Myers. We also managed nice Trout along Pine Island in the sound. Weather continues to look amazing and warm for the coming weeks which is exactly what we want to continue this epic run! Capatain Jay Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Matlacha and Pine Island Fishing Report3/16/2022 It was another great week of catching here in southwest Florida! Big Snook and Redfish were the targeted species for our guests and the fish did not disappoint! Had some great trips and fun times with our Spring Breakers as a bonus!!!
We caught good numbers of slot and upper slot Snook last week along the eastern shore of Pine Island Sound. There were plenty of smaller fish caught along the shores of Sanibel Island up to Captiva Island that kept the anglers busy. We also managed some really nice fish during the early morning outgoing tides in the Caloosahatchee River on the Cape Coral and Fort Myers side. We managed to land some nice Redfish this past week while on the Snook hunt. Our best results were in the late morning/early afternoon incoming tide with the best action in Matlacha Pass. Another cold front just blasted through our area this past weekend. Hopefully it won’t do too much to change the incredible action we are seeing now! Captain Jay Rod Another week of warm weather really helped keep the inshore action on fire! The Snook bite in southwest Florida has been nothing short of extraordinary!!
Spring break is in full swing and our young anglers are loving the Snook fight! We landed big, upper slot fish all week in all parts of Pine Island Sound. The higher afternoon tides around Sanibel and Captiva Islands saw some of the best action. The morning outgoing tide in the Caloosahatchee River provided some great linesider action on both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers shores! We managed some nice Redfish this past week with several upper slot and over slot fish landed along Pine Island Sound and Matlacha. Look for the bite to continue given the warm weather forecasted for the upcoming week! Captain Jay |
